Since the clubs inception in 2009, The Maine Premier Soccer brand has since evolved, and is now divided into a number of club elements. At the beginning our club was merely a Summer Y league program, however we have since branched out and expanded our program by working in partnership with former Maine clubs Sport Zone SC and Maine Coast United. With a fully re-vamped program, and some new branding along the way, here is your comprehensive guide to Maine Premier Soccer.
MCU Portland Phoenix
The MCU Phoenix moniker is now in place as the clubs flagship program as of U12. As the landscape continues to change in 2010, we want to be at the forefront of elite level competition, leading the way in what is a new era for Soccer in Maine. The MCU Phoenix program will field teams from teams at all ages, all of which will operate out of the greater Portland area. We have kicked off the new season by implementing a new U10 - U14 fall training program. This gives our players the chance to receive elite level training in accompaniment with travel soccer, and take part in a true year round soccer environment.
SZ Phoenix
In working with the SZ facility, the SZ Phoenix program will give those in the southern areas of the state the chance to be part of the club. As our 1st outreach center, the SZ Phoenix will be home to those who are on a developmental path to reaching the elite teams; but also a sound base for younger Southern Maine Soccer players, to hone their skills in this 1st class indoor environment.
Phoenix Juniors
As a prelude to our U12 State cup teams, we at Portland Phoenix felt the time was right to devote an exclusive program to those aged U10 & U11 (Please note talented U9 players will also be considered). In creating this program, we intend to not only cater for your child’s soccer needs, but logistically stretch our program to more than 1 location. We will be running Phoenix Juniors programs at both SZ Phoenix & MCU Phoenix training sites. In addition we will also be offering a variety of season lengths, based on what your child is able to commit to.
MPS Portland Phoenix Super Y Teams
MPS Portland Phoenix continues to have exclusivity within the state of Maine, being the states sole representative in the USL Super Y League. Regarded by many as the nations premier Summer Competition, All MCU Pheonix players within our Elite Teams will have access to these rosters with 1st refusal. Other members from the clubs Premier teams will have the opportunity to tryout, as will those from other clubs within the area.

COLLEGE SHOWCASE EXPOSURE
All MPS U15 to U18 teams attending College Showcase Events have their player profiles (and team pages) hosted at GotSoccer.com. This allows College Coaches to search for recruits and view player profiles, team results and schedules. All our players can update their grades and personal bio on the GotSoccer website. Player contact information is only available through secured access to vetted College Coaches.
